Message from Chairman

Welcome to the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, Jahangirnagar University. The government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh has taken different initiatives to encourage biotechnology research and education in Bangladesh. As a part of this initiative, Jahangirnagar University inaugurated the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in 2010 with 40 students, 4 faculty members and 4 supporting staffs. This department has already attracted much attention by producing significant number of highly qualified graduates who are firmly committed to uphold the name and fame of the department achieving international standards in research and education. A number of highly qualified faculty members are committed and engaged in ensuring cutting edge research and quality education to produce graduates of international standard.
